The Dream



Many people ask me "why Mischa Vladivostok?". Apart from my long standing interest in Russian culture and (especially) history, I chose Misha (later transformed into Mischa) as an obvious translation of my name. Vladivostok is slightly more complicated: once I learned at school that the longest train journey in the world was from Coimbra B (in Portugal) to Vladivostok in Russia (technically not 100% correct, but close enough). My name was chosen, and since then I've dreamt of that journey.

20 years dreaming. The wait is over!

      Curioso... Apanhei agora este Blog por acaso... Fiz Vladivostok a Moscovo em Maio-Junho 2010. Tinha decidido fazer essa viagem ao ler um livro que me ofereceram quando fiz 9 anos. Quando contei aos meus amigos de infância que iria fazer a viagem a reacção foi "Até que enfim, desde miúda que falas nisso!". Tinham passado 50 anos... 20 anos é nada. :) Gostei de ler o seu relato, identifiquei tudo. :)

    This journey is a dream for me. I would love to go this trip by a train. I'm a Sri Lankan. it's not an easy thing to do from here. but one day or another I do this!!!!
